Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir, the Street Painting event in Montreal, will be holding its 8th edition from June 12th to June 15th. Between Saint-Hubert and De Lorimier streets, Mont-Royal Avenue will be hosting this colourful festival. There will be various artistic activities, such as street painting, sculpting, poetry and music.

As in previous years, the artists must draw their inspiration from a given theme. Our theme this time around will be "To re-invent the wheel", a popular French expression twisted around to permit artists to renew themselves and their art. Rather than squares like the previo us years, the painters will each have a big round surface as canvas, on Mont-Royal Avenue.

Our website will give you an overview of the successful 7th edition, as well as a brief introduction to the many artists who participated. You can also find out about Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir’s objectives and history, and read a short description of previous editions. Furthermore, our site provides a wealth of information on the visual arts: special events, the Madonnari journal and an exhibition by a Montreal artist.
