ARTISTIQUE APPROACH
Basing his artistic research on the principle of thematic series, GAUTHIER has developed an eclectic language in his paintings, characterized by the systematic use of pure colors in large format. This original style is strongly depicted in Tropismes, an exhibition that was presented at Maison de la culture Frontenac in Montreal from November 6th 2001 to January 6th 2002. In this exhibition, GAUTHIER combined installation (let us not forget that Gauthier's basic training is in sculpture) and performance art , punctually filling the exhibition space with the ingenious use of an "actionnisme" combining electroacoustic music and plastic movement.
